UNILORIN Takes Drastic Action: Expels Six Final Year Students and 13 Others (See Full List)

Nineteen students, including six in their last year, have been rusticated by the University of Ilorin authorities in Kwara State due to their involvement in a variety of offences. 

Education is still the best legacy.

According to a statement made by the school's director of corporate affairs, Kunle Akogun, vice-chancellor Wahab Egbewole (SAN), approved the expulsion or rustication of the affected students in response to the recommendations made by the Students' Disciplinary Committee at its 220th and 221st meetings.

  

According to the statement, the impacted students were punished for offences including violence, theft, bed-space racketeering in hostels, beating up other students, misbehaviour, and admission racketeering. 

It further stated that expulsion and rustication for one semester or academic session were among the sanctions for the offences the students had committed.
