"The commission is wrapping up a consultation process to streamline tariff plans and has instructed Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to conduct an independent assessment of their billing systems in response to customer complaints regarding data depletion.

The statement emphasized that "these initiatives would provide enhanced transparency to the consumer."

  1. They recommended that users turn off automatic updates, disable background data for particular programs, and periodically check how much data they are using.
  2. The Commission also recommended that mobile users turn off location services for specific apps because they can use a lot of data.
  3. The telecom regulator advises installing ad blockers as a defense against unwelcome marketing.
  4. To preserve phone data, the regulator also underlined how crucial it is to connect to Wi-Fi whenever feasible.
  5. The Commission said, "You can connect to Wi-Fi at home, at work, or in public places like cafes or libraries."
