Kingmakers in Oyo town, popularly known as the Oyomesi in Council, has filed a petition marked HOY/38/2023 before the Oyo State High Court, ought to prohibit Governor Seyi Makinde from rejecting Prince Lukuman Gbadegesin, whom they said they unanimously chose at a September 30, 2023 meeting.
When called, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ademola Ojo, stated, "The governor is not present. He has travelled, and no one can declare the next Alaafin.
"The new selection process will begin shortly."
