The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has added 12 state-owned tertiary institutions to its student verification system (SVS), increasing the total number of qualified institutions to 48.

On Sunday, NELFUND reported that only 36 out of 151 state-owned schools have uploaded student data to the SVS, which is required for federal government loan eligibility.The fund requested state-owned higher schools to submit comprehensive student data to the SVS site for students to benefit from the plan.
Nasir Ayitogo, NELFUND's spokesperson, provided an update on Wednesday, revealing the newest institutions to be onboarded. The additional twelve institutions are:
- Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State
- Kwara Polytechnic
- Lagos State University of Science and Technology
- Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State
- Olabisi Onabanjo University
- Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic
- Taraba State Polytechnic
- Yobe State University
- Abia State Polytechnic
- Benue State University, Makurdi
- College of Education, Waka-Biu
- University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Enugu State
