This was revealed in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, issued by the Ministry's Director of Human Resources, Jaiyesimi Abimbola.

"As part of the Federal Government's efforts to ease the country's present food crisis and its repercussions on the general population, I am writing to notify you that 50kg of rice would be sold at a subsidized rate of N40,000 per bag to interested public officials in Abuja.

"To ensure effective implementation, all interested workers must complete a Google form on the OHCSF website, https://www.ohcsf.gov.ng, print it, and submit it to the Director, HR, for approval.

"I should clarify that each employee is only allowed to purchase one bag. Two or more employees may also pay for a bag to share among themselves.

The Federal Government recently announced that it had established locations across the country where Nigerians may buy 50kg sacks of rice for N40,000.
