The National Universities Commission (NUC) formally authorized 22 new undergraduate and graduate programs for the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), marking an important milestone for the university on December 11, 2024.

This accomplishment represents yet another advancement in FUOYE's continuous dedication to academic excellence and progress.
The declaration comes after the administration, under the direction of Vice-Chancellor Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, made a concerted effort to increase the scope of the university's academic programs.
To prepare for the programs' quick launch, the NUC was formally invited to evaluate the facilities that were already in place. When the NUC expressed its approval in a letter written by Mr. Abubakar M. Girei, Acting Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Fasina's dedication and strategic leadership take off.

According to the letter:
"I have been instructed to notify the Vice-Chancellor that the following full-time undergraduate and graduate programs have been approved by the Acting Executive Secretary to be established at the university's main campus starting with the 2024–2025 academic year."
Three undergraduate degrees—a B.Eng. in information and communication engineering, a B.Eng. in software engineering, and a B.Sc. in cyber security—were recently authorized.
The following postgraduate programs have been approved: PGD Science Education, PGD Criminology and Security Studies, PGD Educational Management, and PGDE (education).
The institution will also now offer M.Ed. and PhD. programs in educational management, M.Sc. and PhD. programs in science education, M.Sc. and PhD. programs in criminology and security studies, and M.Ed. and PhD. programs in business education.
Five professional master's programs are listed: criminology and security studies, public finance management, financial fraud investigation and intelligence, and forensic accounting.
This accomplishment further solidifies FUOYE's standing as a forward-thinking university dedicated to academic achievement and innovation and reflects the institution's progressive advancements under Professor Fasina's leadership.
