This scholarship recognizes merit and is available to full-time undergraduate students studying in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), medicine, and related medical fields.
One deserving recipient will be chosen from each of the 14 Tiv-speaking LGAs in Benue State, along with one recipient from each of Taraba and Nasarawa states.

Benefits of MUTA Scholarship 2025
The Committee intends to grant up to 16 scholarships for the academic year 2025/2026.
The precise amount awarded to each recipient will be determined and announced following the completion of the selection process.
Recipients may utilize the funds to address tuition, fees, research costs, or any other expenses directly related to their undergraduate education.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirement for MUTA Scholarship 2025
Applicants must meet the following conditions to qualify for the scholarship:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate program in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), medicine, or any related medical field.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (equivalent to a second-class upper degree) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Note: Applications from those who fail to meet the minimum CGPA criterion will be disqualified, even if they hold the highest CGPA within their local government.
Procedure for Selection
Eligible submissions will be assessed based on the following criteria:
CGPA (60%)
Quality of personal statement (40%).
Applications that contain falsified information will be invalidated.
The completed application form along with all required supporting documents must reach the Committee by 5 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 [US EST (GMT-5)].
Award recipients will receive email notifications, while those who are not selected will not be individually informed. During the second or third week of June, the names of the scholarship awardees will also be published on the official website at www.muta.org and shared across MUTA Education’s social media channels.
All applicants are encouraged to monitor these platforms for updates regarding their application status. The awards will be distributed at a ceremony in July or August 2025. Once the specific date is finalized, it will be confirmed.
Required Application Documents
- Personal Statement: A two-page, double-spaced essay detailing why you are deserving of this scholarship. Include information about your academic background and achievements, involvement in community service, future career aspirations, and financial needs.
- Certificate of Origin: A document from your State or Local Government verifying your origin.
- CGPA Certification Form: A signed letter from your institution's Academic Officer or Head of Department confirming your CGPA. (The required form can be downloaded from the section below the application form.
