As a non-profit organization, the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation envisions being a leading force for the unity, peace, and socio-economic advancement of Northern Nigeria within the broader context of national unity.
Who Can Apply for This Scholarship?
We invite applications from eligible candidates of Northern States origin who have gained admission into 100 level (via JME) and 200 level (through Direct Entry) for Degree and HND 1 programs in the 2023/2024 academic year and have begun their studies.

Benefits of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation Scholarship Program
The scholarship will be granted to each successful applicant for the duration of one academic session. It can be renewed provided that the student maintains a minimum CGPA corresponding to a Second Class Lower Division for university students and an Upper Credit for polytechnic students.

Eligibility Criteria for the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation Scholarship Program
- Must have an admission offer for a full-time Degree or HND program at a public university or polytechnic.
- Must meet the minimum registration requirements for their institution and specific department or faculty as a full-time student.
- Should possess credit in 5 “O” level subjects, including English and Mathematics, at no more than two sittings.
- Must be a native of any of the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (a State of Origin certificate will be required).
- Applicants should not exceed 25 years of age as of the date of entry into the university or polytechnic.
Only candidates admitted to science and technology courses in public universities and polytechnics are eligible to apply.
Required Application Documents
- 3 passport-sized photographs (each measuring 2 inches x 2 inches)
- State of Origin/Indigenization certificate
- Birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC)
- JAMB Examination result
- Original admission letter from JAMB and the respective institution
- Proof of fee payment and departmental/faculty registration
- Valid student ID card
- WAEC or NECO Senior Secondary School Exam result(s) or certificates
- Semester results
- Personal contact information (including email address)
- Reference letter from a community leader
- Completed attestation letter from a parent or guardian
- Active phone numbers
- Contact details of next of kin (including email address)

Qualified candidates should submit their applications and include the soft copies of all required documents to: sabmfscholars@gmail.com
Shortlisted candidates will be notified to participate in a screening exercise, where they will need to present the original copies of all required documents.
Only candidates who are shortlisted will be invited to the screening process.
The names of successful candidates will be published in a national newspaper and on the Foundation’s website.
Applicants already receiving scholarships from other organizations will not be considered.
