Applications are now open for the 2026 Youth Leadership Development Fund (YLDF) Grant Cycle under the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF). The funding opportunity provides grants of up to $10,000 to support youth-led initiatives and organisations strengthening Nigeria’s youth ecosystem.
The fund is co-funded by the MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Luminate Group, and implemented under the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund, a five-year collaborative initiative led by LEAP Africa.

The programme focuses on strengthening youth leadership through policy engagement, inclusive funding, and measurable impact across key thematic areas.
Grant Categories
The 2026 YLDF Grant Cycle includes:
- Small Grant: $1,000
- Development Grant: Up to $10,000
Available application streams include the Individual and Development Grant Application, as well as the Catalyst Grant Application.
Individual Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Young Change Makers aged 18–35
- Demonstrate a track record of implementing sustainable solutions within the programme’s thematic areas
- Show strong knowledge of youth activism, strategic planning, and project management
- Provide valid identification or institutional affiliation
- Submit two reputable referees
Applicants are also expected to demonstrate integrity, innovation, and experience in community or team building.

Organisational Eligibility Requirements
Eligible organisations must:
1. Be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or relevant authority (or apply through a registered partner)
2. Operate as youth-driven civic or transformation-focused entities
3. Demonstrate a credible track record within the thematic areas
4. Provide SCUML certificate and required legal documents
5. Maintain a physical office address and corporate bank account
6. Show strong reach within their proposed state of implementation
7. Submit financial records and two reputable referees
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a concept note or proposal not exceeding 3,000 words, following the official guidelines and template.
