The Federal Government has officially commenced payment of the N22,500 monthly stipend for participants of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme.
Trainees who have completed documentation, physical verification, and maintained good attendance at their training centres have started receiving credit alerts.
The stipend disbursement began on December 2, and many beneficiaries have confirmed receipt. Social media is now filled with messages such as “TVET N22,500 stipend has started dropping. Check your SMS and account balance,” indicating widespread payment across various centres.
The development follows concerns raised by Hon. Seyi Sowunmi, House of Representatives member for Ojo Federal Constituency, who earlier warned that delayed stipends were affecting attendance. He noted that trainees cannot remain committed when the system has not met its financial obligations.

While the payment is a relief, many trainees worry that the N22,500 may not be sufficient due to increasing transportation costs, especially for those travelling long distances to training centres.
Applicants still seeing “Pending” on their dashboard are not eligible for payment. They are advised to keep checking until their status updates to “Approved.”
