The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Internship Programme, offering young Africans a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, or in regional offices across Africa.

This initiative supports AfDB’s mission to promote sustainable development and economic transformation across the continent while preparing the next generation of African leaders.

The programme aims to build skills, enhance exposure to international development work, and provide practical learning in key sectors such as finance, agriculture, energy, governance, and industrial development.

African Development Bank Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizen of an AfDB member country
  • Not older than 30 years by December 31, 2025
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in or recently completed a master’s programme (within one year)
  • Provide proof of enrollment in a recognized institution
  • Fluent in English or French, with working knowledge of the other language
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments and demonstrate strong communication skills

Terms and Conditions
