The Borno State Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MOESTI), through the Borno State Senior Secondary Education Board (BSSSEB), has announced the commencement of the 2026 teachers recruitment exercise for public senior secondary schools across the state.
The recruitment is aimed at engaging qualified and passionate educators to strengthen teaching and learning in Borno State’s public secondary education system.

About the Borno State teachers recruitment 2026 Exercise
The 2026 recruitment drive targets candidates who are interested in building long-term careers in the teaching profession and contributing to the development of education in Borno State.
Successful applicants will be deployed to public senior secondary schools across various Local Government Areas of the state based on need.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants interested in the BSSSEB teachers recruitment must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a graduate of a recognised higher institution
2. Not be above 50 years of age
3. Possess one of the following qualifications:
- NCE
- HND
- B.Sc.
- B.A.
- B.Ed.
- B.Sc. Ed.
- Have a valid NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
- Be eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN)
- Be willing to serve in any Local Government Area in Borno State

Additional Advantages
While not compulsory, the following will be considered added advantages during selection:
- Teaching experience
- Possession of Professional Diploma in Education (PGDE) or equivalent
- Computer literacy and basic ICT skills
