Applications are now open for the Graduate Agripreneur Programme (GAP) organised by the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATN Foundation).
The initiative supports young Nigerian graduates with innovative agribusiness ideas through funding, training, mentorship, and access to agricultural resources.
The programme is designed to encourage graduates to build sustainable agribusiness ventures while demonstrating that agriculture can be a profitable and viable career path.

Through structured training and industry support, the initiative also aims to reduce youth unemployment and strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural sector by helping young entrepreneurs become job creators.
Programme Benefits
Selected participants will receive:
- ₦1,500,000 equity-free grant per winner
- Agribusiness capacity development training
- Mentorship and business advisory from industry experts
- Access to farmland and farming infrastructure
- Market linkages and investor connections
- Opportunities to launch agribusiness ventures within partner universities
Total funding across the cohort may exceed ₦22 million depending on the number of selected agripreneurs.
Eligibility Criteria for British American Tobacco Nigeria Graduate Agripreneur Programme 2026
Applicants are expected to:
1. Be graduates of agricultural or related faculties
2. Have a viable agribusiness idea or existing venture
3. Submit a detailed agribusiness proposal
4. Be willing to participate in training programmes and pitch sessions
Businesses may be at idea stage, prototype stage, or already operational.

Selection Process for British American Tobacco Nigeria Graduate Agripreneur Programme 2026
The selection process will include:
1. Submission of an agribusiness proposal
2. Technical review by industry experts
3. Shortlisting of top applicants
4. Live pitch session before a selection panel
5. Final selection of successful participants
