The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) is calling for applications from qualified individuals to serve on the Technical Committee responsible for designing the Commonwealth Young Leaders Fellowship (CYLF).

The Commonwealth Young Leaders Fellowship (CYLF) is a pioneering fellowship programme aimed at nurturing the next generation of youth leaders across the Commonwealth.

What You Should Know About Commonwealth Young Leaders Fellowship (CYLF)

The Commonwealth Young Leaders Fellowship is being developed as a first-of-its-kind leadership initiative focused on empowering young people to promote democracy, inclusion, peace, and development in line with the Commonwealth Charter.

To ensure the fellowship is impactful and well-structured, CYC is assembling a Technical Committee made up of experienced professionals who will contribute to shaping the fellowship’s framework, curriculum, and mentorship model.

Role of the Technical Committee

Selected committee members will collaborate to:

  • Design the structure and learning framework of the CYLF
  • Develop leadership curriculum and mentorship pathways
  • Provide strategic guidance aligned with Commonwealth values
  • Contribute ideas that ensure the fellowship delivers long-term youth impact

This is a short-term but intensive engagement aimed at building a high-quality fellowship programme.

Who Can Apply (Requirements)

Applicants should demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in designing or managing youth leadership or fellowship programmes
  • Previous fellowship participation is an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of, and alignment with, the Commonwealth Charter
  • Ability to contribute ideas for curriculum design and mentorship systems
  • Availability to commit at least 6 hours per week for 6 weeks

This opportunity is best suited for individuals passionate about youth leadership development and policy-driven impact.
