The Ekiti State Ministry of Education has officially released the updated academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The comprehensive schedule outlines term dates, mid-term breaks, and holiday periods for all public schools across the state which include both primary, secondary, and technical institutions.

First TermStarts: Monday, 16th September 2024

Ends: Friday, 13th December 2024

Duration: 13 Weeks

Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 31st October – Friday, 1st November 2024 (2 Days)

Holiday: Saturday, 14th December 2024 – Sunday, 5th January 2025 (3 Weeks)

Important notes from the ministry all concerned stakeholders

1. Commencement of Academic Activities

Full academic activities must begin in all schools on the first day of each term. Lateness or delays in resumption are strongly discouraged.

2. Public Holidays

All national public holidays as declared by the Federal Government are to be observed accordingly.

3. Open Day Requirement

Every school must designate and observe an ‘Open Day’ to facilitate parent-teacher interaction. School heads are accepted to notify the relevant education authorities of their chosen dates.
