The Chairman of the Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission (TSC), Mrs. Rhoda Ojo, has reiterated the commission’s commitment to recruiting only skilled and qualified teachers and staff for public secondary schools during the 2025 ongoing recruitment process.
Mrs. Ojo made this statement while receiving members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Education in her office located in Ado-Ekiti.
She stated that the commission has instituted measures to ensure that only credible, capable, and professionally qualified individuals are awarded teaching positions in the state.
She emphasized that the time of inadequately trained personnel overseeing and mentoring students in public schools has ended, insisting that the futures of secondary school students must not be compromised for any reason.

The TSC Chairman updated the committee regarding delays in the disbursement of car and housing loans, attributing the holdup to increased amounts owed by beneficiaries and insufficient revolving funds, but assured them that payments would be made soon.
She further explained that the commission has resolved the backlog of issues relating to revalidation and the 2022/2023 promotion exercise, and that conversion and inter-cadre transfers for qualified staff would be finalized within the next week.
Mrs. Ojo praised the state House of Assembly for its prompt passage of the bill to establish the Ekiti State Secondary Schools Board, which is anticipated to commence operations shortly.
In response, the Permanent Secretary of the commission, Mr. Michael Boluwade, countered rumors circulating in the state about the commission issuing appointment letters to certain applicants, clarifying that such claims were fabricated by unknown individuals to undermine the efforts of the commission and discredit the well-meaning initiatives of the current administration.
Boluwade revealed that the final results of the written examination are currently being compiled and will be announced early next week, assuring that successful candidates will be contacted for the final phase of the recruitment process.
In his response, the Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Education, Hon. Adeyemi Awoniyi, praised the commission’s leadership for establishing a transparent recruitment process and for effectively managing the challenges that arose during the recruitment initiatives.
Hon. Awoniyi expressed that the House committee would continue to back the commission’s activities and advocate for necessary support to ensure quality education in the state.

He called for a strong working relationship between the House and the committee to establish a lasting legacy in the education sector under the government led by Biodun Oyebanji.
Other committee members who were present during the oversight visit included Hon. Femi Fatunla, Hon. Babatunde Oke, and the committee’s Clerk, Mr. Olajide Adebayo.
