The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially opened the application portal for training centres and skill providers seeking to participate as trainers under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme for 2026.
The programme aims to strengthen skills development nationwide by accrediting qualified training providers who will deliver hands-on vocational and technical training to beneficiaries across Nigeria.
According to confirmed information, the application portal is currently active and accepting submissions from eligible centres across the country.

Who Can Apply for TVET 2026 Application for Trainer Accreditation?
Applications are open to the following categories of training providers:
- Skill Training Centres (STCs)
- Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
- Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
To qualify, applicants must first obtain accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) before applying through the official TVET portal.
Only CAC-registered businesses are eligible to apply for accreditation under the programme.
Trainer Incentive Under the TVET Programme
Accredited trainers engaged under the TVET initiative will receive:
1. ₦45,000 per student per month
This incentive is designed to encourage quality training delivery, proper supervision, and sustainable skills development.

NBTE Accreditation Requirements by Training Category
NBTE accreditation requirements vary depending on the training category. Applicants are expected to meet the standards outlined below.
1. Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
VEI applicants must provide:
- Evidence of CAC registration
- Use of NSQ-based curricula
- At least one qualified instructor per trade
- Instructor-to-student ratio: 1:40
- At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) and
- one Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) per trade (part-time allowed)
Functional physical facilities, including:
- Workshops
- Classrooms
- Offices
- Restrooms
Documented evidence of:
- Previous training programmes
- Certifications issued
- Skill Training Centres (STCs)
2. STC applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Valid CAC registration
- Use of NSQ-based curricula
- At least one qualified instructor or senior artisan per programme
- Minimum certification: NSQ Level 3
- At least one QAA and one IQAM per trade
- Adequate technical and support staff
Essential training facilities, including:
- Workshops
- Restrooms
- Records of previous training activities
3. Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
MCP applicants are required to provide:
- Either CAC registration or a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
- Use of NSQ-based curricula
- At least one qualified artisan per programme
- Training ratio of 1 junior artisan to 5 trainees
- Functional workshop and restroom facilities
- Evidence of prior training experience and skills delivery

How to Apply for Federal Government TVET Trainer Accreditation (2026)
Interested and eligible training providers should visit the official NBTE TVET application portal and select the appropriate training category (VEI, STC, or MCP).
Complete the online application form with accurate details and upload all required documents as specified. Submit the application and save your User ID for future reference.
