The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) wishes to inform all student loan beneficiaries that disbursement status can be independently verified via their personal dashboard on the NELFUND portal.

Students are hereby reminded that there are two reliable forms of notification confirming that their student loan has been disbursed.

Recent updates on your Nelfund Student Loan dashboard you should know

1. Upkeep Disbursement Alert: What this applies is that only students who applied for the Upkeep component of the loan will receive the alert without any interruption.

2. Dashboard Notification: All applicants will see this under the “Loans” section of the portal. The School Loan History clearly displayed the following:

  • Tracking ID
  • Date of Disbursement
  • Status (e.g., Disbursed)
  • Loan Type (e.g., Institutional Fee)
  • Academic Session

If the status shows “Disbursed”, this means NELFUND has successfully transferred the institutional fee to the student’s school. This is the official confirmation of payment. Students are advised to check their portal regularly and use this information when engaging with their institutions.
