The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has begun sending confirmation emails to shortlisted candidates.
Although no official date has been fixed for the Computer-Based Test (CBT), the Service has provided important guidelines that all candidates must follow.
The CBT will be conducted online, and candidates may take it from any convenient location, provided there is reliable internet access, or at an internet-enabled computer centre.
Mobile phones will not be accepted for the test. Instead, candidates must use a laptop or desktop computer with a functioning webcam and full-screen display capability.
Before logging in, candidates will undergo facial verification, so they are advised to maintain a clear facial appearance without makeup, hats, or anything that could obstruct recognition.

The CBT platform is also sensitive to noise and movement; therefore, candidates must remain focused on the screen in a quiet environment throughout the test. Any background distraction, whispering, or excessive body movement may cause the system to automatically log them out.
During the exercise, candidates must stay on one window only, as switching between browser windows will be flagged as malpractice. To help participants get familiar with the system, a pre-test will be conducted two days before the main CBT. Two separate links will be sent to each candidate—one for the pre-test and the other for the actual examination on a different date.
In addition, candidates applying for the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8) will be required to sit for an additional CBT in the next phase of the exercise, while this will not apply to those in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres.
All candidates who successfully scale through each phase of the recruitment process will be invited for a final screening at a later date.
Finally, the Nigeria Customs Service warns that the recruitment process is completely free of charge. Candidates should beware of scammers and avoid making any payments to anyone claiming to represent the Service.
