What the Nigeria for Women Project Is About
The NFWP was introduced to assist women who are already economically active but face common challenges such as insufficient capital, limited business knowledge, and poor access to financial services.
A core feature of the programme is its reliance on Women Affinity Groups (WAGs)—community-based groups where women come together to save, receive training, share resources, and access support collectively.

Nature of the NFWP Grant
Financial support under the NFWP is provided as livelihood assistance, not unrestricted cash. In previous phases of the programme, individual women received grants typically ranging between ₦30,000 and ₦60,000, depending on the state and phase of implementation.

Grant access is usually linked to training attendance, savings participation, and group performance.

1. Be a woman aged 18 years or older
2. Be economically active, meaning already engaged in an income-generating activity
3. Reside in a participating local government area within states covered by the programme
3. Be willing to join or form a Women Affinity Group
Interested applicants should note that there is no application or registration fee at any stage
Types of Businesses Supported
The programme supports existing micro and informal businesses, including but not limited to:
- Trading and petty commerce
- Small-scale farming and agro-processing
- Food processing and catering

Application Timeline
There is no single nationwide deadline for the NFWP grant. Registration and onboarding depend on state-level rollout and community engagement schedules.
Grant disbursement is done in phases and is tied to programme milestones rather than early application.
