The Olubadan Advisory Council will convene on Tuesday to begin the process of enthroning a new monarch for the Ibadan realm.
On March 14, 2024, the venerable throne became empty with the death of Oba Lekan Balogun, who had ruled the old metropolis for two years at the age of 81.
According to custom, the Olubadan Advisory Council meeting would be held in the home of the highest-ranking chief, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, in his Bodija mansion.
A source claims that the Olubadan Advisory Council will propose High Chief Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the late monarch’s heir, at the meeting.
According to The Punch, the Otun Line produced the immediate-past Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, who passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, after two years in power and joined his forefathers.
