The Rivers State Government has approved a Youth Agribusiness Training Programme aimed at empowering young indigenes with practical agricultural and entrepreneurial skills to drive food security and economic growth across the state.
The approval was granted by the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, and formally announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Engr. Victor Kii.

Youth Agribusiness Programme Focus and Objectives
According to the Commissioner, the initiative is targeted at Rivers State youths who have genuine interest in agriculture and agribusiness.
The programme is structured to provide hands-on training, modern agricultural knowledge, and entrepreneurial capacity development across key value chains.
The training areas include:
- Crop production
- Livestock farming
- Aquaculture
- Agro-processing
- Agribusiness management
- Agricultural technology
Engr. Kii explained that the programme aligns with the governor’s broader vision of youth empowerment, job creation, economic diversification, and sustainable development, while repositioning agriculture as a profitable and attractive sector for young people.

- Venue: School-to-Land Authority, Rumuodomaya,
Centre of Excellence, Obio-Akpor, Rivers State
