UBA Foundation has officially opened the applications for the UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2025!
UBA Foundation will be rewarding participant with a total of 22.5 million in educational grants available for young Nigerians to express innovative ideas, drive progress, and contribute to shaping the future.
The topic for 2025 National Essay Competition is: “Nigeria is characterised by diverse cultures, ethnicities, and religions. How can young Nigerians deploy diversity to build a united nation?”

Advantages and Awards for the UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2025
- Champion – N10 million educational grant for any African university
- 1st Runner-Up – N7.5 million educational grant for any African university
- 2nd Runner-Up – N5 million educational grant for any African university
Eligibility Criteria for the UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2025
1. Must be a Senior Secondary School Student in Nigeria
2. Fill out the application form
3. Submit a handwritten essay with a maximum of 750 words (not typed)
4. Provide a recent passport photograph
5. Include a scanned copy of your Birth Certificate/National ID/International Passport

Selection Procedure
A highly respected panel of judges consisting of professors from well-known Nigerian universities will evaluate all submissions. From these, 12 finalists will be chosen to move on to the next phase.
The finalists will be invited to UBA Head Office in Lagos to take part in a second and final round of supervised essay writing. The panel will review these new submissions and determine the top three winners.
