The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the commencement of its online Pre-Test exercise for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadres.

According to the official statement released by the Service, the Pre-Test will begin on Saturday, 4th October 2025, and end by 11:00 pm on Monday, 6th October 2025.

All shortlisted applicants are expected to log in using their National Identification Number (NIN) through the official NCS portal at https://updates.customs.gov.ng to access their individual Pre-Test links.

The NCS clarified that the Pre-Test can be taken at any convenient time within the stipulated period, but candidates must ensure they complete the exercise before the deadline.

Applicants are also advised to avoid noise and unnecessary movement while taking the test, as the system is sensitive and may result in automatic log-out if it detects distractions or instability.

The purpose of the Pre-Test, according to the NCS, is to help applicants familiarize themselves with the online test environment in preparation for the main recruitment examination. However, the Service noted that this Pre-Test will not determine the final outcome of the recruitment process.

Further information on the main online test will be communicated in due course through official channels.

Meanwhile, the NCS emphasized that this stage is strictly for Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadres, and that Superintendent Cadre applicants are not to participate at this stage.

Applicants are strongly advised to rely only on official NCS platforms and social media handles for credible updates to avoid misinformation.
