President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the launch of the National Health Fellows Programme, a new initiative designed to strengthen healthcare delivery across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria. The programme will engage young Nigerian professionals to support health systems at the grassroots level.
The initiative will operate under the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) coordination office, supervised by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. Selected fellows will undergo training, receive work tools, and be paid a monthly stipend while contributing to improved healthcare services and community health outcomes.
This programme offers a pathway for young Nigerians to gain leadership experience, build capacity, and contribute to national health development.
