The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released a comprehensive overview of the 2025 recruitment process, detailing the application phase and shortlisting outcomes across all participating services and states.
Stage 1: Application Phase
According to the Board, the online application portal was open from 14th July 2025 to 11th August 2025, during which millions of Nigerians applied across the four paramilitary agencies and the CDCFIB headquarters.

Total Number of Applications by Service
- Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS): 165,212 applications
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS): 703,499 applications
- Federal Fire Service (FFS): 406,491 applications
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC): 482,198 applications
- CDCFIB (Board): 116,122 applications
The Board also published a state-by-state application breakdown, showing the highest and lowest application volumes across the federation, as captured on 25/11/2025 at 13:28.
Stage 2: Shortlisting Phase
In this stage, the CDCFIB reviewed all submitted applications and categorized them into completed, incomplete, and disqualified entries.
Shortlisting summary
- Completed Applications: 1,120,491 (58.5%)
- Incomplete Applications: 432,935 (22.6%)
- Disqualified Applications: 360,923 (18.9%)
A pie chart released by the Board visually represented the three categories, while another bar chart compared state-by-state shortlisting outcomes, reaffirming the transparency of the recruitment process.
The shortlist analysis was also timestamped 25/11/2025, 13:28.

STAGE 3: Examination Phase
According to the CDCFIB reports, it was stated that the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Phase started from 12th to 19th November 2025.
The scoreboard for all the applicants who have successfully written the CBT exam is as follows:
- 0-40: 221,996
- 41-60: 229,155
- 61-80: 278,543
- 81-100 142,697
Finally, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) reveals that stage 4 of the recruitment exercise is coming soon. Stage 4 has been described to be the Physical Screening and Document Verification stage.
