The Ekiti State Government has commenced the 2024/2025 promotion exercise for eligible teaching and non-teaching staff in public secondary schools across the state. The exercise kicked off at Ola-Oluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti, where qualified staff members reported for screening, verification, and assessment.
While addressing participants at the venue, the Permanent Secretary of the Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr. Michael Boluwade, urged staff to cooperate fully with the promotion panels to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted process.
He emphasized that compliance from all participants would contribute to the success of the exercise.
Mr. Boluwade commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for granting timely approval for the promotion cycle, noting that the decision reflects the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
He assured staff that financial benefits attached to the promotion would be implemented promptly, adding that Teaching Service Commission employees would enjoy the same treatment as those in the core civil service, with no delay between promotion effective dates and salary adjustments.

He further explained that all participating staff are required to present original academic certificates and other relevant documents during the exercise. Proper and decent dressing, he added, is also a compulsory requirement for participation.
To ensure fairness, the Permanent Secretary disclosed that a complaint desk has been set up to handle grievances or concerns that may arise. He reassured workers that no eligible staff member would be unfairly treated, stressing that the promotion process is guided by transparency and equity.
The promotion exercise follows the recent approval by Governor Oyebanji for the advancement of qualified state employees, a development that affects about 3,713 Teaching Service Commission staff. The exercise is scheduled to last for six working day.
