The Federal Ministry of Education, in partnership with Oxford-TVET, has officially opened applications for the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project, a flagship Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme aimed at equipping unemployed Nigerian youths with practical, market-driven skills.
This phase of the programme focuses on Solar and Inverter Installation and Maintenance, in response to Nigeria’s growing demand for renewable energy professionals and skilled technicians.
As the country continues its transition to clean and sustainable energy, this initiative is designed to bridge the skills gap, create jobs, and empower young Nigerians to become employable technicians or business owners in the renewable energy sector.

About the IDEAS Project (Solar & Inverter Track)
The IDEAS Project is a Federal Government social intervention programme created to move participants from unemployment to productive skills ownership.
This specialised track provides comprehensive, hands-on training covering:
- Basic electrical principles
- Solar panel installation and configuration
- Inverter system setup and maintenance
- System design, fault detection, and troubleshooting
- Real-world field practice and project work

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Requirements)
This programme is specifically targeted at unemployed Nigerian youths.
To qualify, you must:
- Be currently unemployed
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Be available for the full 6 months of intensive training
- Have strong interest in technical work, renewable energy, and vocational skills

Interested and qualified candidates should apply by completing the Federal Government IDEAS Solar Training Programme official registration form provided by the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
