The Federal Government has announced the launch of the Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI), a new programme designed to train and empower 5,000 young Nigerians as certified electricity meter installers and technicians.

The initiative, launched by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to equip participants with practical technical skills, create employment opportunities, and support Nigeria’s drive to close the country’s electricity metering gap.

The programme will be implemented in collaboration with the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, and other key stakeholders.
