The MECI Scholarship Fund 2026 is now open to eligible Medicine and Surgery students in selected Nigerian universities.
This financial aid initiative by Medical Students’ Empowerment for Community Impact (MECI) is designed to support deserving students facing financial challenges while helping them achieve their academic and professional goals.
As part of its commitment to strengthening healthcare education in Nigeria, MECI will award ₦100,000 scholarships to 12 successful applicants, enabling them to focus more on their studies and less on financial constraints.

Who can apply
Students who are enrolled into the following universities and are studying Medicine and Surgery:
- University of Benin (UNIBEN)
- University of Ilorin (UNILORIN)
- University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK)
- Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)
- Usmanu Danfodiyo University (UDUS)
Requirements Needed (Eligibility)
To be eligible for The MECI Scholarship Fund 2026, the applicants must be:
- Be a registered Medicine and Surgery student.
- Attend one of the participating universities.
- Be enrolled at any level of the Medicine and Surgery programme.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Maintain good academic standing.
Selection Process
