The MTN Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, established in 2010, is a long-standing initiative designed to support academically strong students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.
The scholarship features multiple categories, including the Science and Technology Scholarship (STS), which focuses on students in STEM-related fields.
The MTN Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS ) category is primarily open to 300-level students and 400-level medical students in public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

For the 2026 edition, 400 scholarships will be awarded, each valued at ₦300,000 annually and renewable until graduation, provided recipients maintain strong academic performance and meet required development (upskilling) criteria.

Recipients will receive ₦300,000 annually throughout their undergraduate studies, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible, for The MTN Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, you must:
- Be a student in a Nigerian public tertiary institution
- Be in the required level (200 – 300 level, or already in 300 level; medical students in 400 level)
- Meet the academic performance thresholds
There’s also a dedicated category for blind students (SBS), open to those in 200 or 300 level across all courses.

Academic Requirements
1. STEM (Universities/Colleges): minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5
2. Polytechnics: minimum 3.0 (OND) and HND admission
3. Direct Entry: minimum 3.0 (OND) and 300-level admission
4. Medical students: minimum pass grade
Blind students:
- Universities: minimum 2.5 CGPA
- Polytechnics: minimum 2.0 (OND) + HND admission
