How to Set Up a Webcam on Your Laptop or Desktop (Very Easy Guide)
If You’re Using a Laptop:
Most laptops already have a webcam built in (right above your screen). Here’s how to check if it’s working:
- Click the Start Menu (the little Windows logo at the bottom left of your screen).
- Type “Camera” and click on the Camera app that appears.
- If you see your face on the screen, it means your webcam is working!
Make sure you sit in a bright place so your face is clear. Clean the lens with a soft cloth if the image is blurry.
If You’re Using a Desktop Computer:
You will definitely need a separate webcam (called an external webcam).

If you try to open another tab, window, or app, the system might lock you out.
