For civil officials on the remaining six Consolidated wage Structures, the federal government has authorized wage hikes of 25 and 35 percent, respectively.
This was stated on Tuesday in Abuja by Emmanuel Njoku, the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC) spokesperson.
“For the remaining six consolidated compensation structures, the federal government has approved a salary increase for civil personnel of between 25 and 35 percent.
Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), and Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS) are some of them.
Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure (CONPASS) is the name of another.
Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS) and Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS).
He declared, “The increases will be effective from January 1.”
He added that this will also go into effect on January 1 and applied to the six consolidated salary structures that were previously specified.
According to Mr. Njoku, the action was taken per the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, section 173(3) (as modified).
The official noted that raises had already been given to people working in the health and postsecondary education sectors.
“Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS) for universities and Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure (CONUASS) for universities are included in this.
The Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS) and Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS) are involved for polytechnics and colleges of education.
“The Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) and Consolidated Health Sector Salary Structure (CONHESS) also benefited the health sector,” Mr. Njoku stated.
