The initiative, under the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, is seeking individuals who can support programme coordination, public health advocacy, communications, social media management and digital visibility.
Although the positions are unpaid at this stage, selected volunteers will gain practical experience, receive an official certificate of service/participation upon satisfactory completion and may be considered for future funded opportunities based on performance and availability.

About the YES! Health Nigeria Initiative
The Interministerial Committee was established to help institutionalise Meaningful Youth Engagement (MYE) in Nigeria’s health system, following Nigeria’s adoption of the Africa CDC Strategy for Youth Engagement and Participation in Global Health (YES! Health) 2025–2028.
The interim team will work closely with the Chairman and wider Committee for an initial 3–5 month implementation period, supporting stakeholder engagement, programme activities, communications, advocacy and digital campaigns.
Available Positions
There are three positions available:
- Programme Assistant – Office of the Chairman
- Communications & Social Media Manager – Content & Public Engagement
- Communications & Social Media Manager – Digital Growth & Visibility

1. Programme Assistant – Office of the Chairman
The Programme Assistant will provide day-to-day coordination support to the Chairman and help turn the Committee’s plans into organised and measurable activities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful volunteer will support:
- Programme coordination and implementation
- Maintaining activity calendars and action trackers
- Stakeholder mapping and engagement
- Preparation of meeting briefs, agendas and presentations
- Partnership and resource mobilisation activities
- Webinar and event coordination
- Research on youth engagement, health and public policy
- Preparation of briefing notes and background documents
- Documentation of meetings and Committee activities
- Weekly updates and progress reporting
Requirements
Applicants should ideally have:

2. Communications & Social Media Manager – Content & Public Engagement
This role focuses on what the Committee communicates and how its work is presented to the public.
The successful candidate will help develop the communications strategy and create content that makes YES! Health Nigeria’s activities accessible and engaging.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve:
- Developing and implementing a 3–5 month communications strategy
- Creating monthly content calendars
- Developing social media posts and X/Twitter threads
- Creating LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook content
- Producing short videos, reels, infographics and explainers
- Developing youth stories and partner features
- Supporting MYE advocacy campaigns
- Promoting webinars and events
- Repurposing events and webinars into digital content
- Managing editorial calendars
- Preparing key messages and public communications
- Ensuring accuracy and consistency across communications
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A background in Communications, Public Health, Media or a related field
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills
- Experience creating digital and social media content
- Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools
- Understanding of youth development, advocacy or public health communications
- Strong creativity and attention to detail
3. Communications & Social Media Manager – Digital Growth & Visibility
Unlike the Content & Public Engagement role, this position focuses more heavily on audience growth, online engagement and expanding the Committee’s digital reach.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Manage the Committee’s social media platforms
- Schedule and optimise content
- Monitor online conversations and engagement
- Develop audience-growth strategies
- Increase followers, reach and engagement
- Support digital campaigns
- Identify relevant youth and health communities
- Build relationships with digital partners and influencers
- Coordinate social media collaborations
- Track social media performance and analytics
- Prepare monthly digital performance reports
- Provide live social media coverage of major events
- Support photography, videography and digital storytelling
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Experience managing organisational social media accounts
- Strong knowledge of digital communications and audience growth
- Experience with social media analytics and campaign management
- Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Interest in youth development, public health and advocacy
