The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has taken another major step toward ensuring a transparent and credible recruitment process as the Board officially held a stakeholders’ engagement session with members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
The one-day engagement, held on Monday, 25th May 2026, was led by the Secretary to the Board, Maj Gen A.M. Jibrin (Rtd), and focused on sensitizing Nigerian youths about the official recruitment procedures into the four paramilitary agencies under the Board.
The meeting forms part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency, inclusiveness, accountability, and active youth participation in government recruitment exercises.

During the session, the Board reassured Nigerian youths that the ongoing and future CDCFIB recruitment processes would remain merit-based, fair, and accessible to qualified applicants across the country.
The Board emphasized that recruitment into the following agencies will strictly follow official procedures:
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
- Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
- Federal Fire Service (FFS)
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
Speaking during the engagement, Maj Gen A.M. Jibrin (Rtd) explained that the sensitization programme was necessary to help Nigerian youths better understand the recruitment guidelines, application requirements, and official communication channels.
He also warned applicants against falling victim to scammers, fake recruitment agents, and misleading information circulating online during recruitment periods.
One of the major highlights of the event was the interactive question-and-answer session where youth representatives raised concerns and received direct clarifications on eligibility requirements, transparency measures, equal opportunity, and how the Board plans to ensure fairness throughout the recruitment process.
