The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has commenced the final stage of its 2025 recruitment exercise, with shortlisted candidates undergoing documentation, physical fitness assessments and medical screening at the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The NCS 2025 Recruitment Final Phase screening exercise began on Monday, September 7, 2026, and is scheduled to run for two weeks, ending on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Candidates shortlisted for the Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASCII), Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres are being processed in batches.
To ensure an orderly exercise and prevent congestion at the screening centre, candidates are being scheduled according to batches arranged alphabetically by their states of origin.

Customs Emphasises Discipline and Conduct
Speaking to candidates at the screening centre, the Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resource Development, Frank Onyeka, congratulated those who had reached the final stage and urged them to comply strictly with the instructions guiding the exercise.
According to him, the Service is assessing more than candidates’ physical fitness and medical suitability. Their attitude, discipline, character and professional conduct are also important considerations as the recruitment process progresses.
He encouraged candidates to remain orderly and follow all instructions provided by officials at the screening centre.
The NCS is also working with the Customs Police and other relevant units to help maintain security and protect the integrity of the recruitment process.

Screening Exercise Reported as Orderly
The Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Dow Gaura, also highlighted the role of administrative improvements and collaboration among relevant agencies in the ongoing exercise.
He noted that the screening process has been conducted in an orderly manner and described the exercise as seamless and hitch-free, with no reported casualties.

- Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) cadre: Screening concludes on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
- Inspectorate cadre: Screening continues until Saturday, September 19, 2026.
- Customs Assistant cadre: Screening continues until Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Candidates who have been shortlisted should follow the specific date, batch and instructions communicated to them by the Nigeria Customs Service.
