The Federal Government has announced plans to launch a National Job Matching Platform aimed at connecting graduates of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes directly with employment opportunities across Nigeria.
The initiative forms part of the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), which seeks to strengthen technical education, improve workforce readiness, and reduce unemployment by creating a clear pathway from skills acquisition to employment.

What the Platform Will Do
The National Job Matching Platform will:
- Connect TVET graduates with employers seeking skilled workers
- Bridge the gap between training and employment opportunities
- Support a skills-to-jobs ecosystem across various industries
- Help employers access certified and industry-ready talent
- Improve workforce competitiveness and employability
Key Highlights
According to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa:
- More than 1.3 million Nigerians started applications when the TVET portal opened
- Over 963,000 applicants completed their registration
- More than 150,000 trainees are currently undergoing training nationwide
- Over 1,600 accredited training centres are now operational across Nigeria
- More than 4,000 instructors have been trained
- Over 2,500 quality assurance managers have been deployeMore than 38 technical workshops have been upgraded
