The Federal Government has directed all trainees under Cohort 2 of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme to undergo a fresh biometric enrolment.
This follows the discovery of irregularities in the initial registration process, including cases of duplicate entries and individuals being registered without physically attending training.
The move is aimed at restoring credibility, ensuring accurate records, and maintaining transparency within the programme.

Why the Re-Enrolment Is Required
This decision comes after reports revealed gaps in the earlier registration process, raising concerns about the integrity of the trainee database.
- Some centres registered individuals who never attended training

What Has Changed in the Biometric Process
To address these issues, the Federal Ministry of Education has introduced a stricter and more reliable biometric system for all participants.
- Previous three-finger capture has been scrapped
- New requirement: compulsory ten-finger biometric capture
- All trainees must redo the enrolment, including those already registered
- Process must be completed physically at designated centres

- Only verified trainees will appear on the payment portal

What Trainees Must Do
Affected participants are required to take immediate action to avoid being affected by the new directive.
- Report physically to your assigned training centre
- Complete the fresh biometric enrolment
- Attend within the scheduled time provided by your centre

At the Jekadafari centre in Gombe, trainees are expected on Monday, April 27, 2026, by 10:00 AM

To ensure a smooth process, trainees are advised to come prepared and follow all instructions carefully.
- Bring proof of centre allocation (email or dashboard record)
- Ensure fingers are clean for proper biometric capture
- Follow all instructions provided at the centre
The government has made it clear that this exercise is mandatory and non-compliance will have consequences. Failure to participate may lead to delisting from the programme.
