Malaria Consortium, a leading international non-profit organization working to prevent and control malaria and other communicable diseases, is inviting applications from experienced translators for a short-term consultancy role in Abuja.
The successful consultants will support the translation and adaptation of health communication materials for a major insecticide-treated net (ITN) distribution campaign designed to reach millions of Nigerians.
This opportunity is ideal for language professionals with experience translating public health, media, or development communication materials into Hausa, Pidgin English, or Gbagyi.

Responsibilities
Selected consultants will:
- Translate leaflets, posters, banners, message cards, and other print materials into their assigned language.
- Translate scripts for radio jingles, audio messages, and video campaigns.
- Adapt communication materials to suit local culture and language needs.
- Review and revise translations based on stakeholder feedback.
- Support the production of multilingual audio and video campaign materials.
- Ensure translations are accurate, clear, and suitable for low-literate and non-literate audiences.
Expected Deliverables
Consultants will be expected to produce:
- Print-ready IEC materials in English, Hausa, Pidgin, and Gbagyi.
- Broadcast-ready audio jingles and voice recordings.
- Video messages in all required language versions.
- Edited and approved campaign photographs where applicable.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Degree or HND in Linguistics, Language Arts, Mass Communication, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in translation, media, communications, or related work.
- Proven experience translating campaign, public health, or media content into Hausa, Pidgin English, or Gbagyi.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver quality work within tight deadlines.
- Clearly indicate their preferred language (Hausa, Pidgin, or Gbagyi) in their CV.
