The Federal Government has directed some TVET applicants under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme to choose new training centres due to capacity limitations at previously selected locations.

This update affects candidates who had already progressed in their application process.

What Happened

Following a recent capacity review, the TVET programme team discovered that certain training centres could no longer accommodate additional applicants. As a result, affected candidates received an official email titled “TVET Program – Center Reassignment Required.”

According to the notice, applicants must return to the portal and select a new training centre to continue their application.

Official Message to Applicants

The communication sent to candidates clearly explains the situation and next steps required.

“Following a capacity review, your selected center is currently unable to accommodate additional applicants.”
“To proceed with your application, please log in to the TVET portal and choose an alternative center.”

This means applicants cannot proceed unless they update their centre selection.

Challenges Reported by Applicants

Many applicants have expressed confusion and frustration, especially those who had already completed parts of the onboarding process.

Some of the major concerns include:

  • Loss of application data after biometric verification
  • Inability to access personal dashboards
  • Being redirected to reapply instead of continuing their application
  • Reports of certain centres being removed entirely from the system

One applicant noted that after completing fingerprint verification, their details disappeared from the system, raising concerns about data integrity.

What This Means for Applicants

This development introduces uncertainty for many candidates, particularly regarding whether previously completed steps such as biometrics will still be valid after reselecting a centre.

For now, all affected applicants are expected to:

  • Log in to the TVET portal
  • Select a new available training centre
  • Continue the application process from the updated stage

However, there is no official clarification yet on whether earlier submissions will be retained.
