The Federal Government has officially launched the enrolment process for beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP) across all electoral wards in Nigeria.

Under this initiative, 1,000 people will be selected from each ward, while larger wards may receive up to 2,000 slots depending on population size. The programme is designed to reach citizens at the grassroots level and stimulate economic activity across communities.

Reports confirm that several states have already started pilot registration exercises as part of early implementation efforts, in line with the national rollout plan.

In total, the programme is expected to register about 8.8 million Nigerians across 8,809 wards in 774 Local Government Areas nationwide.

How the Enrolment Is Being Implemented

The registration exercise is being coordinated by the State RHWDP Coordination Office in each state and will cover all wards within the state. These offices are required to ensure that the process is fair, transparent, and inclusive.

Each state will implement the programme under the guidance of its governor, with special focus on enrolling:

  • Unemployed youths
  • Smallholder farmers
  • Owners of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
  • Other economically active citizens

Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP) Official Enrolment Guidelines

To ensure proper implementation, the following rules apply:

1. Every ward in every LGA must be fully captured on the enrolment portal

2. Registration must reflect fair distribution across communities and sub-units within each ward

3. Relevant stakeholders must be informed and involved, especially regarding requirements and selection process

4. At least 30% of beneficiaries must be economically active women

5. Registration must be conducted at the community level

6. All submitted beneficiary information must be verifiable

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

To qualify for the RHWDP, applicants must:

  • Have a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Be a resident of the ward or LGA where they are registering

Be economically active, including:

  • Smallholder farmers
  • Traders and business owners
  • Artisans, technicians, and craftsmen/women
  • Entrepreneurs and MSME operators
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Unemployed youths will be given special priority during selection

How to Register for the FG Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP)

Interested and eligible individuals are required to visit their ward office under the State RHWDP Coordination Office to complete their registration.

Online registration is not required at this stage, as enrolment is being conducted physically at the community level.
