The FGN Power Company (FGNPC) has opened applications for the Siemens Energy Development Project (SEED), a skills development initiative designed to build a pipeline of certified and industry-ready energy professionals who can contribute to the effective utilisation, operation and long-term maintenance of critical power infrastructure in Nigeria.

The programme is also aimed at strengthening local technical capacity within Nigeria’s power sector by providing eligible participants with practical skills, industry exposure and professional certification opportunities in the renewable energy field.

The training is supported by the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), a technical assistance programme co-funded by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by GIZ.

About the SEED Training Programme

The training is designed for individuals who are working or seeking to build careers in the renewable energy sector.

Successful participants will also have the opportunity to obtain COREN certification upon completion of the training, subject to the applicable certification requirements.

Accommodation and Transportation

Applicants should take note that GIZ-NESP and Siemens Energy will not provide accommodation or transportation support for participants during the training.

However, the training and cost of certification are free, while meals will be provided on training days.

Participants should therefore make adequate arrangements for their transportation and accommodation where necessary, particularly those travelling to Lagos or Abeokuta for the training.
