The MTN Foundation has officially launched the 2026 edition of its “What Can We Do Together” (WCWDT) initiative, inviting Nigerians to nominate communities and schools that require urgent support in healthcare and education infrastructure.
The programme is one of MTN Foundation’s major social intervention projects aimed at improving living standards across Nigeria through community-driven development. For the 2026 cycle, the Foundation plans to renovate public healthcare centres and upgrade science laboratories in selected secondary schools nationwide.

What the MTN Foundation WCWDT 2026 Programme Will Support
As part of the 2026 intervention phase, MTN Foundation disclosed that the programme will focus on two major sectors that directly impact communities and young people.
The Foundation will support:
1. Renovation of Public Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs)
A total of 40 public primary healthcare centres across Nigeria will be renovated and upgraded.
The intervention will mainly focus on improving maternal and healthcare service delivery, helping communities gain better access to quality medical care, safer facilities, and improved patient experience.
According to the Foundation, every state in Nigeria, including the FCT, will benefit from at least one PHC intervention project.
2. Upgrade of Public Secondary School Science Laboratories
The programme will also renovate and equip 15 public secondary school science laboratories across the country.
This intervention is designed to improve practical science education and strengthen STEM learning for students aspiring to become scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and innovators.
MTN Foundation added that at least two schools from each geo-political zone will benefit from the science laboratory upgrade project.

During the launch, Director of the MTN Foundation, Etim Amana, explained that the initiative is built around collective responsibility and community development.
According to him, the programme is focused on improving lives through partnership, service, and people-centered interventions.
The Executive Director of the Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, also highlighted the importance of creating better science learning environments for Nigerian students.
