The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) has opened applications for the NWAG Scholarship 2026 for qualified female undergraduate students studying in Nigerian universities.
The scholarship supports students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential.
For the 2026 edition, NWAG will award 111 scholarships to female undergraduates across Nigeria. The funding helps students cover academic costs such as tuition, books, accommodation, and study materials.

NWAG Scholarship 2026 Value
The NWAG 2026 Award will be distributed to selected students as follows:
- Grand Award: $300 USD
- First Runner-Up: $150 USD
- Second Runner-Up: $100 USD
All payments will be made in the Naira equivalent.
Although the scholarship is a one-time grant, it provides helpful support for students facing rising educational costs.
A total of 111 scholarships will be awarded and distributed as follows:
- Three scholarships per Nigerian state
- Three scholarships for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
This structure ensures fair representation across Nigeria.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
1. Be a female Nigerian student
2. Be currently enrolled in a Nigerian university
3. Not be in the final year of study ( final year students are not eligible to apply)
4. Show academic commitment and leadership potential
Required Documents for Successful Application
Applicants must submit the following:
1. Proof of State of Origin (letter from university or local government office)
2. Two recommendation letters from any of the following: Pastor/Imam, Village Head, Local Government Chairperson, University Lecturer, or Head of Department
3. One recommendation letter from the Dean of Faculty or Head of Department
4. Photocopy of University Student ID card
5. Current passport photograph
6. Personal explanation letter (maximum half a typed page explaining why you deserve the scholarship)

Essay Requirement
Applicants must also submit a two-page typed essay on the topic:
“How Can Nigeria Harness Renewable Energy and Sustainable Practices to Create Jobs and Drive Economic Growth?”
Essay guidelines:
- Must be typed
- Double spaced
- Maximum of two pages
Applicants may use AI tools for up to 25% of the essay, but most of the content must reflect the student’s original ideas and voice.
Note: Excessive AI-generated content may lead to disqualification.
