The Federal Government has officially commenced the disbursement of the ₦25,000 monthly stipend under the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) scheme, with confirmed beneficiaries already receiving bank alerts nationwide.
Checks indicate that payments commenced on December 19, following transfers initiated by the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO).
Several vulnerable households have verified receipt of the funds, while online platforms particularly Facebook have seen a surge of posts from beneficiaries confirming active payments.
Information obtained by Dailylight Channel shows that beneficiaries are receiving automated credit notifications reflecting the ₦25,000 payment as part of the Renewed Hope intervention.
The current round of disbursement is targeted at households yet to complete the full three instalments allocated under the programme.

Under the scheme, each eligible household is entitled to a total of ₦75,000, paid in three separate tranches of ₦25,000. The Federal Government has moved away from physical cash distribution at ward levels, opting instead for direct bank transfers to beneficiaries’ accounts to improve transparency and efficiency.
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, confirmed that the ongoing exercise is designed to reach over 15 million households captured in the National Social Register.
Only households already verified with a National Identification Number (NIN) and a valid bank account are eligible for payment.
Authorities have advised beneficiaries who are yet to receive alerts to remain patient, noting that payments are being processed in batches. Officials also clarified that there is no public application or registration portal for the Renewed Hope CCT, as selection is based strictly on existing social welfare data.
The December ₦25,000 payment forms part of the Federal Government’s ward-based development strategy, which channels social intervention funds directly to all 8,809 wards across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, with the aim of easing economic hardship among the most vulnerable households.
